DAY 1
Genesis 1:1-5 :
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said: „Let there be light“, and there was light.
4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.
5 God called the light ‘day’, and the darkness he called ‘night’. And there was evening, and there was morning
— the first day.
• The theme of creation runs through the entire Bible, from the creation of our world to the new heaven and the new earth. God in Christ is the Creator and Lord.
• God created the universe and the orders of nature out of nothing. Because God is the Creator, the whole world is His property.
• No part of creation sustains itself as God does. He causes its continuous existence. This means that the universe itself is not God, and parts of creation do not contain God. He is beyond His creation and is
distinct from it.
• God is holy. But all things or living beings on earth are not holy in themselves, only God. Therefore, only God should be worshipped and venerated, not creation itself.
• When God created the world, He was an artist, designer, project manager, zoologist, biologist, chemist, linguist, programmer, engineer and many other things. These are professions that we humans can also identify with.
• Humans are not God and cannot create things out of nothing. They can explore the nature of the universe, but cannot determine it.
