DAY 3

  Genesis 1:9-13 :

9 And God said: “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.

10 God called the dry land ‚earth‘, and the waters that were gathered together

He called ‚seas‘. And God saw that it was good.

11 And God said: “Let the earth sprout

vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so.

12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

13 And there was evening and there was morning — the third day.

• The Bible was originally written in Hebrew. The Hebrew word for "seas" means "world ocean." They were gathered in one place — all seas were connected.

• By gathering the world ocean in one place, God made the dry land visible. He called the dry land earth and the water masses seas.

• The word "sprouting" in verse 11 only occurs at this place in the Bible and means a supernaturally fast sprouting and growth of plants. It was not a slow development process as we observe in everyday life, but a special act of creation.

Many plants, especially flowers, display a beauty that points to a creator.

Have you ever noticed patterns in nature? For example, the spiral patterns in sunflowers, pine cones or pineapples? These patterns even have a mathematical logic or formula!

Or have you ever taken a closer look at fern leaves and noticed that their pattern is also visible in the small leaves?
